With Father’s Day coming up on 16th June, we decided to ask three dads (who also happen to be three of our favourite EGG-owning chefs) what culinary adventures they have planned for the day and which Big Green Egg accessories they would most appreciate as a gift. Our stellar panel consists of Karan Gorkani, who co-founded Hoppers; Matt Burgess, the former executive chef of Caravan; and the multi-Michelin-starred Tom Aikens.

What are your plans for Father's Day? Are there any special meals planned, and who will be in charge of the cooking?
I've got two boys and fathers day is always fun. Given they are finally of the age where they can join me bbqing, I'd like to start them off with some basics this year (if the weather is favourable) and probably do some corn on the cob, chicken tacos, sausages together.
What Big Green Egg items are on your wish list for Father's Day gifts this year?
I love the idea of the Egg Genius. While I enjoy standing by the grill supervising, it's nice to be able to control things remotely when doing the longer overnight cooks.
In your opinion, what is the most rewarding aspect of being a father?
I'm loving every second of being a father right now. The kids are at an age where they are little people in their own right but yet massively dependant on us. I find hanging out with the boys is one of the best ways to switch off and truly enjoy life in the moment.

What are your plans for Father's Day? Are there any special meals planned, and who will be in charge of the cooking?
As my children have grown up and left the house I get to look forward to them taking me out, we love Korean BBQ and our favourite is Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) the almost chewy textures is addictive coupled with the super sweet and spicy broth its bathing in.
What Big Green Egg items are on your wish list for Father's Day gifts this year?
I'm looking for a Foldable Stand for my Minimax this year, I have a few trips away planned and dying to take the minimax with us. I’ve laid hints everywhere!
In your opinion, what is the most rewarding aspect of being a father?
Learning how to father them.

What are your plans for Father’s Day this year, particularly the food?
I’m hoping for some surprises from my family and my two daughters! But to be honest, as long as I’m with them and have a lovely day, that’s all that matters! I will for sure be doing the cooking!
What Big Green Egg item is on your wish list for a Father’s Day gift?
The Rotisserie looks awesome, where you can slowly spit roast your steak, roasting joint, fillet of beef or whole roast vegetables!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a father?
The most rewarding part is seeing your children grow in confidence and master new hobbies or sports. Also, being competitive is an important part of growing up – it gives them something to aim for and challenge themselves at.
