Lifetime Guaranteed Ceramics

The proprietory ceramic moulding process of a Big Green Egg starts by being fired in a kiln at over 2,000f for over 20 hours. The unparalled ceramic composite offers improved insulation, thermal shock tolerance, durability and material strength. This means EGGs are able to far exceed and maintain the temperatures of any other BBQ regardless of the weather.

Enamel Coating

The specialty enamel coating covering the EGG's iconic dimpled surface ensures a weather impervious glaze for year-round cooking. Applied to the EGG at thousands of degrees in the kiln, the enamel is able to withstand the high temperature differential between the internal cooking temperature and the exterior surface temperature. Chip, fade and weather resistant, it's also easy to clean and wipes down without the need for chemical cleaners. Available in the ever classic British Racing Green!

Internal Parts

Firebox, Fire Ring, Cast Iron Grate
The secret to cooking on the Big Green Egg relies on the air tight internal chamber. The high grade ceramic used means that internal temperatures can reach 700f but the exterior of the EGG remains a few hundred degrees less. The quality of the insulation is a result of the proprietory ceramic manufacturing.

Vents

Dual Function Metal Cap

The patented, multi-variable dual function metal cap controls air flowing through the cooking chamber so you can easily adjust and control your cooking temperature. It is easy to maintain accuracy for perfect cooking results every time.

Snuffer Cap

When you have finished cooking, simply close the bottom vents, remove the Dual Function Metal Cap and replace it with the Snuffer Cap. This will stop the airflow and snuff out the fire allowing any unused charcoal to be lit in your next cooking session. The Snuffer Cap is left on when the EGG is not in use and will keep the inside of the EGG free from rain.

Bottom Vent door with safety spark screen

The double venting system built into the Big Green Egg gives amazing flexibility. The technology here is simple but effective. The vents allow air to flow through the BGE and when the vents are wide open the oxygen levels for the hot coals are at their greatest. Reducing the opening of the vents limits the air-flow and reduces the available oxygen thereby reducing the temperature. The safety spark screen avoids any hot sparks escaping from the EGG.

Tel-Tru External Dome Temperature Gauge

The external temperature gauge installed on the lid of the Big Green Egg measures the temperature inside the dome and allows you to achieve exact cooking temperatures. The gauge is designed and manufactured in the USA.

Felt Gasket

The felt gasket lines the rims of the EGG Dome & Base and is designed to create a tight air seal when the EGG is closed. This minimises heat and moisture loss whilst cooking. The Gasket also cushions the edges of the Base and Dome when the EGG is closed. Occasionally, if not properly used, gaskets may degrade but they are easily replaced and full instructions on how to do this can be found on the Use section of this website. Keep the cooking temperature under 350f for the first few cooking sessions to allow the gasket time to season properly.

Stainless Steel Cooking Grid

All EGGs come with a Stainless Steel cooking grid. The grid is size specific to the size of the EGG you choose. Easy to remove and easy to clean.

Weather Resistant Hardware

The bands on the Big Green Egg are made of steel - not stainless steel but anodised and powder coated steel which is much more durable. All the nuts and bolts on the EGG are weatherproof and are designed that they can be left outside, uncovered. The spring assisted hinge makes opening the lid of the EGG easy and allows the lid to stay up by itself with no fear of being easily knocked shut.

Ash Tool & Grill Gripper

These essential tools for using and cleaning the EGG are included with any EGG purchase. The stainless steel Ash Tool comes in 3 different sizes XL, Large & Medium and Small & Mini. Can be used to stir the cold charcoal so the ash falls through to the bottom of the EGG and then used to rake out the ash through the draft door.

Box of BGE Fire Starters

These natural fire starters work in combination with the Big Green Egg natural lump charcoal to give a fast and easy way to light the charcoal that won't taint your food or the ceramics of the EGG with chemical fillers. There are 24 in a box.

We ship your EGG direct to you using a national "curb-side" pallet delivery service, provided by an independent third-party agent. Alternative delivery and installation methods may be provided by some dealers. Please be sure to read the full shipping disclaimer and limitations

Pre-Assembly Option

We like to be as helpful as possible and can offer pre-assembly at an additional cost of £35 per EGG. This is available on all EGGs in nests, unfortunately we cannot pre-assemble EGGs in tables as there is insufficient room on the pallet. Please note the EGG will be pre-assembled but you will have to attach the shelves.

Warranty Information

The felt gasket is not covered under the ceramic warranty. If used improperly it may need to be replaced from time to time.
This warranty does not apply to damage caused by abuse or use of the product for purposes other than that for which it is designed, damage caused by lack of proper use, assembly, maintenance or installation, damages caused by accidents or natural disasters, damage caused by unauthorized attachments or modifications, or damage during shipment.
This warranty does not cover thermometers or felt gaskets. This warranty does not cover damage from normal wear and tear from use of the product (for example, scratches, dents, dings and chipping) or changes in the appearance of the grill that do not affect its performance.
